Scholarships

Tom Easterly served as a biologist with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department between 1992 and 2014. He was stationed in the Greybull area and his biologist district encompassed the areas in and around your schools. Tom generously helped the people and community he served, and was especially generous to helping local children. He taught hunter safety courses, did many wildlife educational school programs, helped with the Paintrock Hunter Mentor Program, and the Worland Outdoor Education Day each year. Tom’s passion was introducing young hunters to the sport of bird hunting and sharing the importance of well managed wildlife habitat with them.

In the spirit of Tom’s belief in our future generations of conservationists, the Memorial Committee would like your support in the distribution of this application form. The recipient of the award will receive, without charge, a Lifetime Wyoming game bird/small game license and conservation stamp.

To be eligible for this award the applicant must be 14 years of age on the date of application and may not be older than 18 years of age on the date of application and must be a resident who has continuously resided in Wyoming for at least 10 years. The applicant must reside within the boundaries of the Greybull Biologist District.

Applicants will be judged by their application qualifications and the content of their essay by a committee of five. The selected applicant will receive notification and a license application form will be sent to the applicant who will complete and return the form in order that the lifetime game bird/small game license and conservation stamp can be awarded. Unsuccessful applicants may apply in the following years if they meet the age requirements. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email.

Starting at the WY-MT stateline near Frannie, south along the Bighorn-Park County line to Elk Creek, east along Elk Creek to HWY 20, south along HWY 20 to Worland on HWY 16 to HWY 435 and east to the Bighorn County line north to the WY-MT stateline.

It includes the towns of Greybull, Frannie, Cowley, Byron, Lovell, Burlington, Basin, Manderson, Worland, Ten Sleep, Shell, Emblem, Otto, Deaver and Hyattville.
